In particular, the following steps are recommended:

  1. Select a software program to record your screencast (see below).
  2. Plan the content of your screencast.
  3. Select a quiet environment for your recording and prepare your workstation.
  4. Record your screencast (note: check your equipment is functioning beforehand).
  5. Watch your screencast and make edits as necessary.
  6. Publish your screencast online and share it with your students.
  7. Collect student feedback about your screencast to assess its effect.
